Gang Sheet Builder
Hand the layout work to the person who knows the artwork.
Most gang sheet orders arrive as a folder of loose files and a note about sizes. This puts the roll in front of the customer instead, so what reaches your queue is already laid out, already measured, and already paid for at the right price.
What the customer does
Upload and size
Designs go in as PNG or JPG. Each one gets a width, a height and a quantity in inches, and the builder keeps the aspect ratio unless it is told otherwise.
Arrange the sheet
Drag pieces into place and rotate them, or let the builder arrange and fill the roll. It runs to the gap you set, so nothing lands too close to be cut.
See the waste
Used and wasted percentages update as the layout changes, which is usually enough to make someone tighten it up before they buy.
Check out
The sheet goes into the cart at the price its length works out to, with a preview and its dimensions attached to the line.
What you control
Everything the builder measures against is yours to set, from the app's settings screen inside your Shopify admin.

Built so the price cannot drift
A sheet is priced by its length, which means the cart has to respect that length. Two things could break it, and both are closed off by Shopify rather than by the page.
No buying around the builder
The gang sheet product exists so the cart has something to carry. Adding it without going through the builder is refused at checkout, because there would be nothing to print.
No editing the quantity
Quantity carries the sheet's length, so changing it in the cart would mean paying for a shorter sheet than the one produced. That is refused too.
Both checks run inside Shopify's own checkout, not in the browser. Editing the page, or calling the cart directly, does not get past them.

Questions
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The builder was written on one, and dragging, resizing and uploading all work on a touch screen.
What file types can customers upload?
PNG and JPG. Transparent PNG gives the best result, since what you print is what the customer sees on the sheet.
How do I get the print file?
Every order line carries a job reference and a preview link. The full resolution production file is generated for that job and downloaded from the app.
Can I run more than one roll width?
Not yet. The app runs one width per store today. If you print on two widths, tell us, since that shapes what gets built next.
What if a customer's artwork is too low resolution?
The builder shows the size a design will print at, so an image stretched beyond what it can carry is visible before checkout. It does not currently refuse the order on your behalf.
Does it change anything else in my store?
It adds one product, called Custom Gang Sheet, which the cart needs in order to carry a sheet. Nothing else in your catalogue, theme or checkout is touched.
